UNC uses Lyris List Manager software for listservs across campus. As a member of a listserv you have the ability to control how often you receive messages that are posted to a listserv. This article provides instructions for how to view and adjust those settings.
Enter your password and click OK. The List Manager My Fourms page will load and display a list of forums of which you are a member.
NOTE: The password for the Lyris List Manager system is completely independent of your ONYEN password or any other UNC login. If you are unsure of your password, see the directions at the end of this article for resetting this password.
Select the list you would like to change the settings for by clicking on the forum name. The Message page will load and the list name will be displayed next to current forum at the top right of the screen.
Click My Account in the menu that appears on the left side of the screen. The My Account Screen will load.
Under Membership type: select the membership type you prefer and click Save Changes. This will save these changes for only the current list (forum). Normal: You will receive an email as each new message is posted to the listserv. Digest: You will receive an email message at the end of each day that contains all of the messages posted to the listserv during that day. MIME digest: You will receive an email message at the end of each day that contains all of the messages posted to the listserv during that day. This message will be in MIME format. (For most users this option should not be used.) Index: You will receive an email message at the end of each day that contains a listing of only the subject lines of the email message posted to the listserv during that day. NOTE: If this membership type is selected you will need to log in to the List Manager site to view the content of the messages. No email: You will not receive a an email message when new messages are posted to the listserv. To view posted messages you will need to log in to the List Manager site.
If you would like to apply these same settings to all other lists of which you are a member, click the Advanced tab. The advanced settings will load.
Under Apply changes: select how you would like the changes to your account to be applied and click Save Changes.
Change only this forum: Applies account changes you have made to only the list (forum) you currently have selected. Change other forums..: Applies account changes you have made to all other lists of which you are a member and use this same email address. NOTE: If you would like to make setting changes only to select lists of which you are a member you will need to make those changes separately for each individual list. To do this, switch to a different list by clicking the list name next to Current forum: at the top right of the screen. This will return you to the My Forums page in step #2 where you can repeat the process (steps #2-5) for changing the settings for a newly selected list.
Resetting Your Lyris List Manager Password
If you are unable to log in to Lyris List Manager or have forgotten your password, follow the steps below to reset and sync your password.
Click List Manager in the menu on the left side of the screen. The List Manager options page will load.
Click User Tools in the menu on the left side of the screen. The user tools options will appear.
Click Reset Passwords link. A Lyris List Manager screen will load.
Enter your email address and click Enter. An on-screen message will notify you that you will be receiving a message to the email address you entered that includes a link and directions for resetting your password.
Check your email for a message from Lyris List Manager and follow the directions in the email to complete the password reset.
NOTE: The password reset link provided in the email expires after one hour.
