Which campus resources require Duo

Enrollment in Duo 2-Step Verification is required for all faculty, staff, and students for access to the following campus resources:

  • ConnectCarolina (including electronic W-2 forms)
  • VPN (off-campus access to UNC network resources)
  • Select Servers
  • Citrix

EdIT Recommendations/Tips

  • Use the Duo App, when possible, as your primary method of authentication (available for iOS and Android). This will ensure you have an authentication method when you travel and potentially do not have cellular service.
  • Set up at least one secondary authentication method. This could include your office phone.
  • Do NOT approve an authentication request unless you initiated it. If you received an authentication request that you did not initiate, this could indicate that someone is attempting to access your account. You should contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance as soon as possible.
