Room Guide 

Starting Up the Room 

Touch the System Power icon on the touch panel. 

You will have four options to choose from.  

Presenting Modes 

To share content only to the room, choose Room PC, Laptop, or Sharelink.  

• Room PC – This classroom is equipped with a computer within the presenter credenza. To use this PC, leave the touch panel on Room PC. Use the wireless keyboard and mouse to wake and log into the computer. Content should automatically project onto both room screens.  

• Laptop – Choose this option to share content from a local device through an HDMI connection. Sharing audio and video is possible. If needed for your device, use one of the adapters (seen below) connected to the HDMI cord.  

• Sharelink – ShareLink allows you to share content wirelessly. See this guide for instructions on using ShareLink: ShareLink Wireless Collaboration: Getting Started – Ed Portal (unc.edu)  

Conferencing Mode 

If you have attendees or presenters online, use the Zoom Room option.  

1. Start up the room as detailed above.  
2. Select Zoom mode on the touch panel. It will direct you to “Use the Zoom Rooms touch controller to run your Zoom meeting.”
3. Move to the Zoom Room controller iPad. 
4. Select ‘Join’ if you have a meeting ID provided. 

Alternatively, you can start a new meeting from the controller and invite your guests afterward.  

Zoom Room Options 

• When you start or join a meeting, the in-room camera will automatically activate. The camera will project to the Left Screen. 

• The camera can follow the speaker around the room automatically. To enable this, on the Zoom Room controller iPad, choose Camera Control and then Auto-Framing. 
• There are several pre-set camera views. To toggle between them, go to the touch panel. Choose Camera Control and try out Home, Preset 1, Preset 2, and Preset 3.  

• The in-room microphones will also automatically activate. 

• Mute and adjust the volume from the Zoom Room controller iPad.  
• If there is too much room noise reaching the online participants, turn off the Ceiling Mics from the touch panel.  

• Share content through Zoom. Select Share Screen on the Zoom Room controller iPad and follow the instructions.
